About the Student Union

Every full- and part-time student who enrolls at Sir Wilfred Grenfell College becomes a member of the Grenfell College Student Union and consequently also becomes a member of the Canadian Federation of Students. As members of the Canadian Federation of Students we are able to campaign for student rights and concerns as a combined body with one powerful voice.

The purpose of the Student Union is to unify and represent all of its members, and to protect and promote their welfare and interests. The Union undertakes campaigns and provides services to enhance the educational, cultural, environmental, political, and social conditions for its members.

The Grenfell College Student Union (GCSU) was formed more than twenty years ago and has worked hard to represent the concerns of students since that time. The Council is the representative body of the Union. It is composed of four executive directors - President, Vice-President Academic, Vice-President External and Vice-President Executive - and six Councillors-at-Large. The Executive members and Councillors are elected by students in general elections.
